Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • The Radiology Patient Registrar is responsible for a variety of clerical duties in the hospital Radiology Department and/or the satellite offices.
  • Duties include collecting complete and accurate demographic and financial information and performing outpatient registration electronically in the hospital information system.
  • Reception duties include greeting patients changing patients speaking with family members generating orders answering phones insurance verification
  • Provide financial assistance information to our self pay and under insured patients point of service collections cashiering maintaining files and routing mail.
  • Scheduling of imaging procedures is performed.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician offices and Admitting/Registration concerning registration and authorization process.
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of data collected in order to meet Office of Statewide Healthcare Planning Department (OSHPD) requirements.
  • Applies Dignity Health Core Values to the performance of every job duty.
  • This position may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers point of sales devices applications supporting credit card transactions and reports or other documents containing credit card information) from single transactions or a single card at a time.
  • Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities seek guidance when in doubt promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation.
  • When called upon the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Two (2) years general clerical experience in a clinical/hospital environment in the last five years preferably in an Admitting/Registration Department or Radiology Department.
  • This position requires graduation from high school or its equivalent.
  • Type with accuracy at a rate of 30 wpm with minimal errors. (30 WPM)
