Responsibilities

As a Manager of Business Development with American-Mercy Home Care, you will serve as a field-based business development representative, helping to maintain and grow current market share and identify new sources of business.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Manages Direct Reports. 
  • Manages performance by creating an “expectation of excellence”.  Works with the Director of Business Development to set performance goals, monitors results.  
  • Establishes/manages productivity system for staff and ensures the organization maximizes the clinical value of associates.  Creates opportunities for continuous improvement of staff performance, development, and morale through fair and accurate performance evaluations. 
  • Assists with driving achievement of CHI Health at Home organizational goals.  Leads, manages and develops the sales and customer relations staff to accomplish referral and financial goals, in support of providing high quality clinical outcomes with a high level of patient satisfaction.  
  • Interviews, oversees the hiring process and orients direct reports. Assists with recruitment and retention of qualified, productive and customer-focused associates. Monitors recruitment/retention activities and costs.
  •  Creates a high performing work environment characterized by transparent and open communication, mutual trust and respect.
  • Implements and maintains administrative practices, organizational philosophy, goals and policies which ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.  Ensures consistent administration of, and staff compliance with, all organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Assists in establishment and implementation of both individual and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality HIPAA protected health information. 
  • Meets or exceed established monthly admission target(s) as provided by their supervisor and determined by the branch monthly budget.

  • Responsible for census development through the implementation of external and internal sales, marketing, customer relations programs with both existing and new accounts.

  • Maintains up-to-date information as needed on specifically assigned competitors, including pricing, census, product information and marketing strategies. 

  • Responsible for maintaining the territory management system and technical aspects of sales tracking and territory management programs and provides IT sales support as needed.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Health care professional credential, Bachelor’s degree, or comparable business experience required; RN or Business degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing health care sales or customer relations staff, or as a Care Transition Nurse in home health care required.
  • Minimum of one year of related sales experience required, preferably in a health care/medical field. 
  • Excellent sales, customer service and persuasive abilities; ability to build trusting relationships and gain commitment for referrals.
  • Valid Driver’s is required.
