Responsibilities
As an EKG Tech at our hospital, you will play a crucial role in patient care by performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) to monitor heart activity. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for procedures, operating and maintaining EKG equipment, and accurately recording test results for physician review. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and precise diagnostics, contributing to the overall treatment plan. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of cardiac health are essential for this role. - Performs computer assisted EKG's.
- Completes EKG reports in Cerner.
- Assists the MD/RN during patient diagnostic testing procedures as requested.
- Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies for patient diagnostic testing.
- Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
- Performs stress testing under physician supervision.
- Assists in stress/medicine induces stress echos.
- Reports observed or reported alterations in the patient's condition to the RN or physician.
- Performs other clerical duties as needed to include data maintenance in CardioServer.
- Transfers data and collects data for productivity and monthly reports.
- Prepares patients for transfer/transportation to other departments/areas.
- Assists patient to cart or bed and transports patient as necessary.
- Documents on patient record according to hospital protocols - Provides input to RN for inclusion in plan of care.
- Takes call duty as assigned by the lead tech on a rotating basis for stress coverage.
- Resource to personnel in the operation of EKG/Stress equipment.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diplom/GED, Official Transcripts, or Equivalent Combination of education and experience
- EEG Program Certificate
- ABRET EEG Tech license (R.EEG.T)
- American Heart Association-issued BLS card
- American Heart Association-issued ACLS card
Preferred:
- (1) year of experience in adult and ambulatory EEGs
- (1) year of experience in Evoke Potential and LTM
- (2) years of stress test experience
