This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus to experienced Anesthesia Techs.

No weekends or call required.

Responsibilities
  • This job is responsible for assisting licensed anesthesia providers, within scope of licensure, in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of safe, efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care.
  • An incumbent provides support for routine and complex surgical cases by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia and involves the operation of a variety of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic equipment used to monitor, evaluate and manage the patient undergoing anesthesia.
  • Work also includes: equipment maintenance and servicing, cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating and testing, troubleshooting, requisitioning and recording of inspections and maintenance; calibrating and verifying the functionality of anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices; disassembling and decontaminating equipment after use; stocking anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations; and performing point-of-contact clinical laboratory as necessary.
  • Work requires knowledge of the use, functionality and operation of all anesthesia-related equipment and monitoring devices and the ability to troubleshoot anesthesia delivery systems as necessary.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • #1 - Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or
  • Two years of related work experience as an Anesthesia Technician or other health care provider (e.g. LPN, EMT, etc.)that would demonstrate possession of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.

License/Certification

  • If qualified under #1 above, current certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is preferred.
  • Current healthcare provider American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • If classified as Anesthesia Tech-Cert, certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is required.
