Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in ensuring a smooth and positive healthcare journey. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks related to patient intake, including:



  • Welcoming and Registering Patients: Checking patients in and out, verifying demographic and insurance information, and ensuring all registration requirements are met.
  • Financial Management: Collecting co-pays, co-insurance, and prior balances, posting payments, and reconciling cash drawers.
  • Insurance Verification and Authorization: Gathering and validating insurance information, obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations for ancillary testing and surgical procedures, and working with insurance carriers to determine benefit coverage.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Scheduling patient appointments, coordinating ancillary services, and managing appointment confirmations and rescheduling.
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Answering patient questions, providing information on billing and insurance matters, and ensuring a positive and supportive experience for every patient.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: One year of customer service experience is required; two years preferred. Healthcare or Call Center experience is a plus!

  • Skills:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization/billing requirements (preferred).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred).
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software.
