Responsibilities

Demonstrates experience in specific area of clinical nursing that has been further developed through bachelors preparation in nursing. A selected patient population is the focus of practice. Population may be further defined according to age group: psychological, social, cultural, biophysical systems; or patient status on health-illness continuum. Position is based on needs of patient and healthcare system. Scope of practice encompasses use of nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and administration. This position is accountable for promoting excellence in clinical nursing practice. The incumbent is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advance clinical practice, education to staff, patient, family and community. Also, serves as a clinical consultant to staff, hospital administration, physician, patients, family and community.

Works with departments to determine education support needs and to facilitate maximum utilization
Demonstrates experience in specific area of clinical nursing that has been further developed through additional training, national certification, and/or advanced degree
Serves as resource to education department regarding program evaluation for student programs, orientation, patient/community education, and adjunct faculty
Performs ongoing staff, patient, and organizational education needs assessments, performs continual staff progress evaluation and reports evaluation outcomes
Provides knowledge-driven outcomes management through advance clinical practices

  • Documents and submits required reports and data within specified time frames i.e. needs assessment, tracking record and AzNA CEU program requirements
  • Develops and facilitates continuing education (CE) programs as a member of the Dignity Health Arizona Region Provider Unit in collaboration with the Primary Nurse Planner and Lead planners.
  • Gathers data to guide educational opportunities and measure the outcomes of such opportunities.
  • Participates in Yearly Education Strategic planning as a member of the Provider Unit in alignment with vision, mission, and priorities of the Dignity Health Arizona Region health care settings.
  • Performs and provides current research data to support education and programs
  • Assures facility requirements, regulatory guidelines, and related policies are followed and maintained

Qualifications
MINIMUM
Four years clinical experience in clinical area of expertise

BSN
AZ RN license or compact state
Experience with Windows and word processing applications
American Heart Association BCLS 

PREFERRED
Masters degree 
Certified in area of specialty
Experience with spreadsheets databases graphics applications
Specialty certification and/or 2 years teaching
