The posted compensation range of $32.08 - $46.51 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As a Cardiac Echo Sonographer with CHI St. Joseph's Health, you will perform diagnostic testing to support our team in their efforts to properly diagnose and treat patients.
Every day, you will perform various tests on patients with cardiovascular issues. You’ll apply your independent judgment relative to all technical imaging procedures for patients with heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, heart attack, and minimally invasive surgical procedures to major structural repairs.
The Echocardiography Technologist is responsible for performing all diagnostic echocardiography procedures in the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines. Performs diagnostic procedures including: 2-D, M-Mode and Doppler in Transthoracic Echocardiograms. Uses skills to combine physics, electrophysiology and clinical diagnosis to provide complete accurate data to make informed Echocardiographic interpretations.
To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate skills to work independently, possess good written and oral English communication skills. You'll have analytical and clerical ability necessary to effectively provide care, interpret data and accurately document findings. Advanced knowledge of cardiology procedures, and the ability to operate various types of electronic equipment, clinical equipment and computers.

Responsibilities
- Performs Echocardiographic procedures in a timely manner; documents required information and communicates to physicians and direct care staff pertinent information.
- Uses auscultatory findings, Doppler Physics and Ultrasound Anatomy to assess patients during Transthoracic Echocardiograms.
- Uses advanced understanding of cardiovascular systems to assess patient conditions and situations for performing procedures.
- Completes all documentation including worksheets, video, chart recording and digital archiving.
- Follows departmental policy and procedure for performing and processing all procedures including: proper scheduling, ordering, coding and charging, computer entry, coping, filing and distribution.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- College level courses in anatomy, biology, chemistry and electronics are desirable.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Current Registry in Adult Echocardiography or Registry eligible in one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist
(RCVT).
