Responsibilities
Performs a variety of skilled work in the repair maintenance and inspection of patient rooms clinical suites medical offices and a wide variety of associated medical and facility equipment used in patient care.
- Inspects facility building and structures and all associated support equipment following department policy, procedures and safety standards to insure that facility and associated support equipment is operating correctly per manufacturer and regulatory agencies.
- Maintains medical gases distribution system. Effects repairs in compliance with codes and regulations. Ensures records are maintained in compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of steam generating equipment and distribution systems. Accurately and consistently follows codes and procedures when operating and maintaining steam-generating equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repairs specialized medical, facility equipment and all associates support equipment. Estimates the scope of each job and requests needed materials. Performs minor facility repairs such as patching walls, painting, fixing wallpaper, minor plumbing repairs, door locks and closures.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrically operated beds and other medical equipment as deemed necessary, following department policy and procedures. Performs electrical repair. Checks air handlers. Insures air handlers are reset
properly and fire alarms are cleared.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license in good standing
- Two (2) years of responsible skilled level maintenance experience in one of the building maintenance trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing or electrical repair and maintenance.
- Ability to work any assigned shifts as required.
- Will be required to take call.
Preferred:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Computer literate
- Completion of two (2) year mechanical Engineering Technology Program
- Forklift Certification
