We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Service Specialist to join our dynamic team at St Clare Hospital. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our patients, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, delicious meals prepared with care and precision. This position is ideal for someone with experience in a hospital or assisted living/long-term care setting.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals using safe and efficient techniques, following established recipes and adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Create meals tailored to various dietary needs and restrictions, including therapeutic diets, and accommodate food allergies.
  • Utilize a range of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, and mixers, to prepare food efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, complying with all state and federal regulations. This includes proper food handling, temperature control, and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Organize and maintain a clean and efficient workspace, including proper labeling and storage of food and equipment.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • At least two years of experience in a food service environment.
  • A passion for food preparation and a commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Washington State Food Handler Permit required upon hire.
