Responsibilities

Position Summary

Lead Radiology Technologist will act as liaison for the Radiology department to other areas of the hospital as well as handle any discrepancies or problems between the Radiology department and other departments with the direction of the Radiology Manager. They must know how to operate diagnostic equipment and perform radiography procedures, as well as be responsible for teaching techs proper operating room etiquette as well as all procedure protocols. They are responsible for quality control and maintenance diagnostic imaging equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs all Functions of a Radiologic Technologist II.
  • Collaborates and assumes lead role with the multidisciplinary care team, patient and family in the assessment and coordination of care needs and transition planning to ensure quality treatment and education.
  • Responsible for acting as the liaison for the Radiology department as well as handle any discrepancies or problems between Radiology and other departments with the direction of the Radiology Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistent workflow in diagnostic imaging; checking both the O.R. Schedules and the Radiology schedules continuously throughout the day to be aware of any changes that occur, and checking the schedule the day before, to see if there are any potential conflicts.
  • Responsible for establishing Diagnostic imaging protocols as well as follow up with physicians to make sure that all diagnostic imaging performed during their procedures is satisfactory.
  • Functions in leadership role.
  • Responsible for image quality and addresses any concerns.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure:

  • Associate's degree (preferred)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R); must maintain as current (required)
  • Certified by State of Texas  – MRT; must maintain as current (required)
  • BLS certification (required)

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of Radiologic Technologist experience (required)
  • Previous leadership experience (preferred)
