The posted compensation range of $30.47 - $44.19 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Perform duties as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with the operation of Nuclear Medicine scanners and related equipment to assist with radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. The Nuclear Medicine team leader is responsible for daily operations of the section, staff and patient schedules, assisting the radiologists in the performance of complex interventional procedures, coordination of equipment maintenance and quality assessment (QA). The technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

Responsibilities
- Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
- Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care. Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and radiologist to insure an effective and harmonious working environment. Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.
- Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures to include in vivo and in vitro studies; operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation including stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma and apparatus for in vitro counting.
- Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients; formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits. Calibrate instruments and review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction. Calculate data to include results of patient studies and radioactive decay. Evaluate recorded images for technical quality.
- Process computerized image data to include function curves and reconstructed SPECT images.
- Perform Nuclear Cardiology studies including image acquisition, processing and monitoring patient vital signs. Perform EKG prep, tracing and monitors for obvious change during cardiac studies. Assist in quality assurance program relating to calibration and maintenance of equipment. Act in a team leader capacity. Assist with the education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows).
- Assists in the development and evaluation of new procedures and techniques to meet the needs of specific protocols as required. Consult with physician concerning the application of nuclear medicine procedures and techniques.
- May rotate shifts or be in an “on call” status as needed or directed by the organization.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Education: Associates Degree, Allied Health or Radiologic Technology; completion of AMA accredited nuclear medicine technology program
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (N) or NMTCB(CNMT)/MRT
