St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Evening Shift Care Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator to join our dynamic Imaging Department team. About the Role:

As a vital member of our Imaging Department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our unit. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist patients with their personal care needs, monitor their condition, and contribute to a safe and comfortable environment. You will also be responsible for performing essential unit secretarial functions, data entry, and equipment processing.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate patient care, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for imaging procedures.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Perform data entry and unit secretarial functions, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and scheduling appointments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect mobile non-critical medical equipment according to established protocols.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Maintain patient charts and records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, risk management, and infection prevention standards.
  • Provide general support activities for the unit.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training).
  • Registration by the Washington State Nursing Commission as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
  • Six months of related work experience preferred, particularly in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in a specialty unit is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and automated systems/applications/software.
