Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Finance Manager, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and financial support to Financial Services for Mercy General Hospital.

The Sr. Financial Analyst will perform monthly analysis, operational reviews, prepare pro-forma financial data, maintenance and operation of the cost accounting system and financial system, productivity reporting, budgeting and all related tasks associated with the information as well as direct communication to Finance Team Members and department managers in the use of such information.

In addition, the Sr. Financial Analyst will drive the integrated care approach goals of standardizing best practices through continuous process & revenue improvement. He/She will serve in a consultative role as a facilitator, driver of change, communicator, and liaison in collaboration with executives, leadership, physicians, clinicians, and other hospital & business stakeholders to effectively utilize people, processes, and technology to reduce charge errors, reduce rework, improve revenue throughput, accelerate cash flow, and increase net revenue overall.


Qualifications

Required:

  • 3 years experience in the health care field
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management and/or Healthcare Administration or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in MSR, Lawson, Axiom, and Strata Jazz desierable
  • Experience working in a hospital setting preferred
  • Advanced degree or CPA preferred

Skills:

Must be able to prioritize work effectively and use problem solving skils to create solutions for a wide range of competeing
tasks. Must have strong written and oral communication skills to effectively respond to management level concerns. Must possess a strong working knowledge of personal computers and related software. Must be detail oriented, yet still able to see and understand the larger picture. Must be able to handle a high volume of
concurrent requests and provide follow-up in a timely fashion. Must be at an intermediate or above level of Microsoft Excel and Access expertise and generally proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
