Responsibilities
The Ivy Brain Tumor Center is a non-conventional, non-profit program offering state-of-the-art clinical trials for patients with the most aggressive form of brain cancer. It is home to the largest collection of Phase 0 trials for brain tumors in the world. Our multidisciplinary team of brain tumor specialists and scientists are accelerating drug discovery and precision medicine in neuro-oncology to identify the most promising first-in-class therapies for brain tumor patients.
The Supervisor Research Project Management is a leadership role responsible for strategically planning, implementing, and overseeing a Global Phase 3 multi-center clinical program from initiation to close-out.This position involves providing management oversight, coaching, and training to project and assistant project management personnel. The Supervisor Research Project Management plays a crucial role in advising investigators and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of study goals and objectives, including building resource requirements, implementing risk mitigation strategies, vendor management, policy and work instruction development, and oversight of project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This position interacts with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, requiring exceptional communication skills. The ability to multi-task and remain organized in a high-volume clinical trial setting is required. The role will report directly to the department operations leadership.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee program staffing infrastructure, makes adjustments as needed to accommodate program growth and development. Provides clear directio`n, setting expectations for direct reports roles and responsibilities, offering support and guidance, fosters a positive work culture, facilitating communication, and assists with conflict resolution.
- Manages collaboratively and coaches others to achieve optimal performance; delegates effectively; oversees annual performance reviews for direct reports, praises/rewards contributions, provides constructive feedback, and assists employees in setting achievable goals.
- Provide management oversight, training, and mentorship to junior project and assistant project management personnel, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Drive the development and maintenance of project-specific policies and procedures to guide efficient project management practices and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including a skilled group of project and assistant project managers, clinical research associates, data managers, biostatisticians, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and
communication throughout the project lifecycle. - Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as clinical investigators, study coordinators, vendors, and sponsors, to establish strong working relationships and ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs), to project sponsors and management.
- Ensure projects have safety management plans in place and are reporting to Data and Safety Monitoring Boards, medical monitors, funding, and regulatory agencies as required per protocol, ICH/GCP guidance, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 3 yrs. experience in clinical research project management. A combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Minimum 6 months experience managing and/or training junior project management personnel.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred: Professional certification in research; CCRP, CCRC, or PMP.
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet platforms.
Preferred: Experience in Global Phase 3 Trials
2 yrs. experience in managing diverse multi-center clinical study portfolios,including academic and industry-sponsored preferred.
Advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MBA) preferred.
