Overview

The Director of Operational Finance provides financial leadership for the outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular network. The CHI St Vincent Heart Institute (SVHI) is comprised of 45 cardiologists who practice in five cities, 30 outlying community clinics, 6 hospitals and manages two Professional Services Agreements (PSA) with two of these hospitals for physician services. The SVHI also operates the CV surgical programs at CHI St Vincent Infirmary and CHI St Vincent Hot Springs, which includes 5 CV surgeons, 1 vascular surgeon and their clinic operations. The complexity and uniqueness of the SVHI operations requires a financial leader who can function at a Director level and has the skill set necessary to not only produce and control financials required on the system level, but oversee revenue control and a 30+ FTE billing department for all professional and technical clinic services produced.


Responsibilities

The Director Operational Finance role will perform higher level oversight of financial operations of the CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute:

  • Oversight/production of all Financial Statements/month end close
  • Oversight of Account Payable processes
  • Labor Productivity oversight and communication to operational leaders
  • Direct oversight of all revenue cycle functions for 50+ physicians and 25+ Advanced Practice
  • Providers handled by a Billing Department Manager and 30+ FTEs
  • Dyad leader for the SVI Finance Joint Operating Committee
  • Produces Consolidated Financial Statements for all SVHI Hospital/Clinic services
  • Produces Proformas for new inpatient and outpatient capital projects and new services
  • Oversees Physician Compensation per contract terms and the Internal Distribution Pool (IDP)
  • Identifies revenue/expense opportunities for CM improvement

Qualifications
  • Masters Degree required, CPA preferred
  • 8 years experience in operational finance required 
  • Previous/current healthcare experience required
  • Senior leadership experience preferred
