Overview

Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. It is one of the area’s largest and most comprehensive medical centers. Dedicated to the community’s well-being our staff and volunteers provide excellence in care for our patients each year. Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip- and Knee- Replacement.


Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel in a central medical supply area engaged in furnishing sterile and non-sterile medical supplies and equipment used in patient care and treatment. Supervises staff conformance with policies and procedures related to the handling, sterilization, cleaning, maintenance, storage, and assembly of patient care supplies, equipment, and instruments. Assists in management of supply room staff to include performance management, continual improvement, training and education and communication of updates to policies and procedures.

  • Supervises supply room employees in the proper, receiving, storing, handling and issuing sterile and non-sterile medical equipment and supplies per organizational standards.
  • Monitors medical equipment/supplies inventory and utilization levels and orders as needed to ensure adequate availability of patient care and treatment materials.
  • Supervises staff conformance with policies and procedures related to the handling, sterilization, cleaning, maintenance, storage, and assembly of patient care supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Assists in management of supply room staff to include performance management, continual improvement, training and education and communication of updates to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Experience: 

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Materials Management or Accounts Payable within a healthcare organization. Three (3) years’ experience in invoice resolution working with requisitioners, vendors and Accounts Payable.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
