Responsibilities

This position is responsible for all electrical systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or
essential utilities including emergency power generation and distribution, normal power service and distribution,
safety devices, disconnects, breakers, line isolation equipment, ground fault equipment, motor driven equipment
(e.g. ventilation and exhaust systems), essential and egress lighting.


Essential Functions:

Install, Repair, and maintain electrical equipment in hospital.
Isolates and repairs electrical circuits, replaces faulty switches, socket plugs, fuses, isolators, and other elements
of the electrical system.
Completes inspections of all electrical systems and equipment according to established procedures completing
log sheets, checklists and PM sheets as required.
Completes required documentation in reference to electrical systems as required by federal, state and regulatory
agencies.
Disassembles a variety of electrical appliances: replaces defective mechanical parts such a motors and control
systems
Work as part of the project team.
Installs wiring in new construction areas for electrical equipment.
Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as needed.
Assists contractors with building information as needed.
Facilitates the efficient operation of the department by answering the telephone and assisting callers or visitors
with requests.
Safe handling/disposal / packaging for Transport of Pharmaceutical Waste/ Hazardous Materials/Bio- Hazardous
Regulated Medical Waste.
• Completes the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and Hazardous Waste education during employee
orientation.
• Tri –annual education for the D.O.T training.
Essential Functions
Essential Function
• is knowledgeable of the process for identifying the proper waste stream and uses the appropriate container to
dispose of waste.
• Knowledgeable regarding the process to contact the emergency response coordinator for hazardous
waste/pharmaceutical release/spill clean-up.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Apprenticeship program or 2 year associate's (preferred)
    degree

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Maintenance Electric: KY
  • Driver's License: KY
  • Journeyman Electrician: KY (preferred)
