Responsibilities

As our Office Coordinator at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston, you will provide assistance to the manager/leadership team, preserving the confidential nature of items of which he/she has knowledge.  This person requires an extensive knowledge of Durable Medical Billing including concepts, practices and regulations.

  • Supervises/assists the billing operations and activities, to effectively manage the billing functions assisting with compliance and established guidelines and to ensure timely and accurate billing activities.
  • Coordinates coding operations and activities, to effectively manage coding functions and compliance with established guidelines and ensure timely and accurate coding activities.
  • Conducts a thorough review of the medical records, and ensures the most appropriate billing practices are used. Works closely with staff in regards to error corrections and continuing education.
  • Resolves complex patient billing inquiries and problems; analyze patient accounts, to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinates payor information and set up with the facility clearinghouse vendors to electronically process claims and accept electronic fund transfers.
  • Responsible for all payor audits to avoid negative impacts on the bottom line and ensure a positive revenue cycle for the facility and prepares necessary reports and communicates results of audits to management, clinicians, and committees as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or GED upon hire, required. 
  • 2-4 years in durable medical experience, required.
  • Two years coding experience, required.
  • Two years billing experience, required.
