Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The Clinical Dietitian provides optimal nutritional care for patients through nutrition education, nutrition consultation, and provision of meal service.  Provides patient care and services based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations including determination of individual patient needs, incorporation of age-specific characteristics in patient education, communication, planning and provision of individualized care.  The Clinical Dietitian assists with planning therapeutic diets in accordance with physician's diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies.  Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to implement nutrition care plans.

  3. Performs critical/frequent procedures or services.
  4. Provides care/services based on identified needs.
  5. Uses required equipment for providing care/services.
  6. Consults with Hospital/department resources.
  7. Demonstrates professional responsibility as per job classification.
  8. Demonstrates Core Values Guest Relations/Guest Service Standards.
  9. Demonstrates Core Values Based on Behavioral Standards.  
  10. Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics/Nutrition required.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Registered Dietitian status and Licensed Dietitian status within the state of Kentucky required.  

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.  

PREFERRED Qualifications

Master's Degree in specialized field preferred.
