Responsibilities
This position is responsible for coordination, facilitating, monitoring and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process for the Greater Sacramento San Joaquin Service Area, which includes, but is not limited to, initial applications, re-applications, site transfers , maintenance of MSOW database and expirables. The incumbent ensures credentialing compliance with the accrediting and regulatory agencies, Joint Commission, Title 22, CMS, NCQA), and Medical Staff bylaws, rules and regulations. This position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging database system and ensuring the timeliness of credentialing/re-credentialing verification processes including the gathering, verification and evaluation of source documents for education/training, professional liability, licensure/certifications, hospital affiliations, work history, professional references and all other primary source verifications as required by the hospital(s), the medical staff(s) and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Experience: 

A minimum of 3 years credentialing experience in an Acute Care setting or 5 years credentialing experience in an Ambulatory setting (required).

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent (required).

Associate's or Bachelor's degree or some college education preferred.

Licensure: 

CPCS certification is preferred.


Special Skills:

Special skills required include: good data entry skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; medical terminology; customer service;
organizational skills; team orientation; ability to maintain confidentiality and familiarity with HIPAA regulations.

Training: 

Training in or working knowledge of TJC/CMS/Title 22 /NCQA standards and requirements; advanced Microsoft Office products MSO/MSOW, Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Internet software; and office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax, and scanner (required).
