As our Surgical Technician II at the CHI Woodlands Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiative and Dignity Health, you’ll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We can’t operate without you.

Position Summary:
- Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
- Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons you’ll be supporting
- Adapt to the needs of emergency situations
- Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical team in the scrubbing role and report any breaks in aseptic technique
- Assist with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting
- Perform surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure
- Assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
- Work closely with the instrument room as service specialist/instrument liaison to assure provision of quality
- Assist RN with circulator duties while under direct supervision
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required as of September 1, 2010 or "grandfathered" employees or LVN
BLS Certification Required
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of experience
