Responsibilities

About This Position:

This position provides nursing care across the continuum of care services for the facilities CV program to facilitate appropriate advanced assessment and procedures. The incumbent will formulate a multi disciplinary team approach to offer therapies and provide assessment to assure correct patient selection and therapy decisions. The incumbent designs and implements this new program's services and  activities and provides maintenance of all aspects of the program in collaboration with the physicians and other multi-disciplinary team members. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, TJC and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. Is responsible for cardiovascular performance improvement. Collects, organizes, analyzes, and reports all necessary data. Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times. Has advanced cardiovascular knowledge and proven application of that knowledge. Provides CV nursing expertise while interfacing with the medical and nursing staff. Identifies opportunities for improvement as related to the CV patient population. Embraces diversity by displaying sensitivity to different cultures and cultural backgrounds. Collaborates with and provides leadership for 

the Emergency, Cardiac Cath Lab, Telemetry, and Critical Care areas along with other entities within the CVSL to promote excellence in cardiac patient care. This position will also assist in the planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations. Reports to the Local CVSL 

leadership and communicates regularly regarding the overall clinical,operational, and quality performance of the STEMI receiving Center (SRC)/Chest Pain Center with CVSL leadership, hospital administration, board members, and county leadership. Participates in strategic and budgetary planning relating to SRC/Chest Pain Center initiatives. Manages applicable cardiovascular registries including but not limited to; Cath PCI, STS, TVT. 

The role of this position will evolve over time to meet the needs of the patients and the program. The incumbent is accountable for maintaining quality standards for the responsive services and assures professional documentation; maintains current and accurate policies, procedures, and practices; all in a manner that is consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of the facility. 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of one year in an administrative clinical role developing, implementing, maintaining and improving cardiology management programs, partnering with physicians and administrative staff to enhance and promote program strategies.

  • Successful completion of a program of training which conforms to standards established by the California BRN.

  • Current California Registered Nurse

  • CA CPR BLS

  • CT EOC

  • CT ACLS

Preferred Qualificaitons:

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Specialty certification CCRN, RCIS, RCES preferred.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer/data programs experience/skills
