Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of respiratory care services during assigned shifts. This leadership position oversees workload assignments, human resource allocation, and the routine provision of respiratory care, including advanced airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and related diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct respiratory care activities, ensuring optimal staff allocation based on patient acuity and workload.
- Perform and oversee advanced respiratory procedures and diagnostics, serving as a resource for nursing staff.
- Participate in the recruitment process by screening applicants and making hiring recommendations.
- Support staff development through orientation, competency reviews, probationary evaluations, and annual performance appraisals.
- Address staffing and operational concerns, communicating promptly with the Director of Cardiopulmonary or the House Supervisor, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aligned with the Mission and Core Values of Community Hospital of San Bernardino.
This position requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and high-quality healthcare environment. Qualifications
- Minimum of one- year experience in a Lead or supervisory role is required.
- Two (2) years of acute care experience, including critical care and Neonatal intensive care is preferred.
- Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
- Current RCP in the State of California and RRT is required.
