The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $22.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
As our Security Officer at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors.
Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codesin a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Maintains a comprehensive inspection test and maintenance program for all security physical and electronic measures. Follows up on pending security issues.
- Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan. Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches.
- Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.
- Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Guard.
- Conducts routine safety patrols of assigned areas reporting safety and security issues within those areas.
- Conducts access control and provides escorts for visitors to secure areas.
- Responds to calls for Security presence within the Emergency Department and assists staff as requested.
- Provides helipad and landing security.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Six (6) months experience as a Security Officer involving extensive public contact.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State Drivers License with satisfactory DMV report upon hire and annually
- American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 60 days of hire.
Preferred:
- One (1) year experience as a security officer involving extensive public contact.
- Completion of college level education courses in Criminal Justice
- International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic course within 90 days of employment and IAHSS Advanced course within six months of employment.
