What started as a simple community hospital is today a state-of-the-art healthcare system with two acute care hospitals, a network of primary and specialty care clinics, outpatient health and wellness centers, cardiac diagnostic centers and outpatient medical imaging centers.

As our Family Birthing Center Secretary/Scheduler at Dignity Health YRMC, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients and healthcare staff with appointment coordination and schedule management, helping to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. In this position, your daily responsibilities will include answering calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments while optimizing provider availability and facility resources.
  • Serve as the main contact for patients, providing information and addressing questions about appointments and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and facilitating communication among staff.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of secretarial experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency.

Preferred: 

  • One year secretarial/scheduling experience preferably in a surgical setting
  • One year of college coursework preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner experience strongly preferred.
