Reporting to the System Director of Revenue Integrity and working in collaboration with CommonSpirit Health
Operations, this position is responsible for assistance in carrying out and monitoring the majority of the activities
related to Charge Capture activities. This position will require collaboration and consistent communication with
the System and Local Revenue Integrity leadership as well as other members of CommonSpirit Health Middle
Revenue Cycle leadership, Revenue Cycle Partners and Enterprise Executive Leadership, CFOs and CMOs.
The role leads the CommonSpirit Health Charge Capture enterprise with the goal to enhance effectiveness of
patient net revenue realization and minimize revenue leakage across the system. This involves complete capture
of patient revenue in every area that generates charges, management in relation to charging mechanisms and
triggers, ensuring clean handoffs between System leadership teams and clinical departments, denials
management, and clinical operations relations.


Responsibilities

*This is a Remote Opportunity

  • Oversees the revenue charge capture system to promote its accuracy and integrity across revenuegenerating departments of the organization
  • Leads maintenance and enhancement of the charge activities via the integrated Revenue Cycle
  • Applications reviewing and optimizing organizational charge structures to assure that charges accurately
    reflect services and supplies provided and are consistent with current industry best practices
  • Leads CommonSpirit Health Charge Capture initiatives
  • Consults with department managers to help develop and implement policies and procedures for the
    purposes of reconciling charges posted in the billing system with other source information
  • Identifies opportunities for charge capture improvement by implementing and analyzing the results of
    routine, random audits
  • Develops tools for the purposes of tracking and identifying potential areas of lost revenue
  • Oversees charge capture staff regarding the appropriate application of charges based on documentation.
  • Reviews changes in CPT codes, HCPCS codes and revenue codes for accuracy and compliance with all
    applicable billing guidelines and optimization of reimbursement
  • Provides support for organization’s clinical documentation improvement program in a standardized
    manner and oversees the integrity of financial and clinical interfaces, while facilitating the development of
    strategic system planning
  • Collaborates in the development of programs, initiatives, and workflows, which provide alignment with
    education for internal customers to support clinical documentation guidelines
  • Ensures staff members are knowledgeable about revenue assurance needs and reimbursement issues
    identified through audits, reviews and aggregate data analysis
  • Maintains knowledge of and adherence to code of conduct standards, confidentiality agreements, and the
    organization-wide mission statement
  • Review and analysis of all Charge Capture operations and financial reports
  • Ensure best practice “operations and process flows” are being adhered to and recommend changes as
    necessary
  • Alert System Revenue Integrity Director to any issues or potential issues as it pertains to performance
    from Optum 360/Conifer

Qualifications

5 years of experience with Charge Capture Required
5 years leadership experience in related field Required 

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance,
business administration or related field.
