Responsibilities

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst is the lead in providing financial business development, analytical
services, and recommendations that influence sound business decisions, enable delivery of business
objectives and guide long term revenue cycle strategies. The Sr. Analyst would be responsible for
implementing, designing, and providing support for complex financial models and analytics within
multiple revenue cycle functional areas. Develops dashboards and reports on key performance
indicators, metrics, data points, and formulas to support management objectives.
Assists revenue cycle leaders in working closely with senior leadership, physicians, and other faculty to
investigate and design strategic initiatives in order to improve revenue cycle metrics, reporting
capabilities, and overall financial performance. The Sr. Analyst will develop key financial and statistical
analysis in support of SVP of Revenue Cycle Management’s negotiations with vendors. Determines how
processes can be aligned with best practices to achieve optimal results, measurable change, and a
quantifiable, positive contribution.

  • Ability to manage, organize, prioritize and monitor project work.
  • Ability to identify, interpret and analyze complex revenue cycle and other financial data and
    issues
  • Ability to synthesize information and recognize trends
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and/or Access
  • SQL and Qlik experience a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of reimbursement/payment policies, medical terminology, medical record coding,
    and claim billing strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of research techniques sufficient to collect and interpret detailed financial data.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and prepare and conduct effective presentations.
  • Exhibits integrity in all actions and communications.
  • Collaborates with key constituents in different functional areas to assist in designing
    reports that meet the hospital’s business requirements and provides training on
    generating these reports.
  • Ensures accessibility and flow of performance information to all relevant parties; works
    to prevent or address data transmission issues.
  • Analyzes financial and revenue cycle performance data to identify trends, patterns,
    and root causes.
  • Examines business and procedural workflows to identify weaknesses in proposed or
    established flows and suggests alternatives as necessary.
  • Conducts quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of performance and helps identify
    and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Explores potential sources of revenue leakage identified by performance indicators
    and responds with data‐driven initiatives to improve net revenue.
  • Utilizes a strong understanding of software, operational workflows, governing policies,
    and regulations to assist in process changes.
  • Organizes statistical findings; interprets, simplifies, and presents information in order
    to champion initiatives to support data integrity and overall revenue cycle performance
    and efficiency.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or a related field required.
MBA or CMA preferred


Experience:
5+ years of experience performing complex financial research and analysis. 3+ years’ experience
in health care organization preferred.
Prior experience in revenue management, patient financial services, and/or health information
systems
