The posted compensation range of $15.49 - $21.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Mid-level position: places requisitions for purchases delivers medical supplies throughout the hospital processes shipping & receiving and delivers inter-departmental supply orders as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Creates requisitions via the computer based inventory system for stock and non-stock items. Creates requisitions for special order items office supplies maintenance items rentals and Capital Equipment.
- Processes shipping and receiving as needed.
- Delivers supplies throughout the hospital as needed
- Negotiates with suppliers and customers to identify “best practice” products and services.
- Provides in depth product research for new products as requested by staff.
- Works closely with Materials Manager and other department managers to create a smooth procurement process.
- Processes product returns and the resulting vendor credits.
- Maintains contact with suppliers regarding the status of any back-ordered product.
- Greets visitors and vendor representatives answers routine questions regarding department operation and directs same to appropriate individual.
- Supports the CHI National procurement activities as needed.
- Provides point of contact for emergency orders.
- Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts as per department policy.
- Assists with Accounts Payable issues relating to vendor invoices
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year supply chain related or any other relevant experience
- Experience in computerized material management systems
Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the purpose functionality and operation of automated ERP systems and processes (Lawson/Infor)
- Knowledge of the standards practices resources and tools applicable to inventory management cost containment and purchasing/procurement
- Knowledge of general office principles practices systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn FH procedures for the acquisition inventory and distribution of supplies/materials
- Ability to process and present data clearly
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely summarizing analysis in reports with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stay on task and meet deadlines
- Ability to keep abreast of and comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements regarding product recalls product failures and returns of outdated materials.
- Ability to read understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level (Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position
Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge and expertise in Excel or equivalent spreadsheet application.
Polished communication and presentation skills oral and written to communicate to the customers peers suppliers and leadership.
Ability to organize and prioritize to insure daily work load is carried out through individual or cooperative efforts.
Ability to react and perform under stress and emergency situations.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology required in order to be consistent to the needs of nursing physician services.
