Unit Support Tech - Surgery

St. John's Regional Medical Center

St. John's Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Unit Support Tech to join our growing team. The Unit Support Tech will play a vital role in our nursing team. 


Responsibilities
  • You will provide essential support by performing tasks such as cleaning and disinfecting OR rooms.
  • Restocking medical supplies.
  • Assisting with patient transport (wheelchair and bed transfers)
  • Collaborating with nurses to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  • A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications
  • 6 months of recent experience in a hospital setting as an EVS, and or Transporting 
  • Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Setting
  • Previous experience in EVS Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and medical staff.
  • Relates with patients/visitors empathetically and tactfully.
  • Reacts calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of hospital safety policies and health standards.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in exact detail.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
