Clinical Tech - Emergency Services
St. John's Regional Medical Center
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Tech to join our healthcare team. As a Clinical Tech, you will support healthcare professionals and patients, ensure the smooth operation of medical equipment, and assist in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in performing crutch fitting based on size.
- Demonstrates successful application of arm sling for both adult and pediatric patients
- Demonstrates competency in therapeutically bandaging arms, legs with ace bandages.
- Demonstrates competency in performance, ordering and documentation of EKG's.
- Demonstrates competency in the procedure of phlebotomy according to hospital standards.
- Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKG's via patient care system appropriately and successfully.
- Performs daily stockroom supply check to ensure adequate stock for patient care.
- Partners with nursing, medical and respiratory staff to assist in the performance of patient procedures (i.e. gastric lavage, stabilizing extremities for suturing, etc.).
- Greeting patients. on arrival, writes time of arrival, pt. name and general complaint on log sheet.
- Assists patients into wheelchairs if indicated.
- Assists with traffic control for patients and families entering main ER doors.
- Alerts housekeeping if the waiting room needs cleaning.
Qualifications
- Six (6) months recent hospital experience as CNA or CT or EMT preferred.
- Successful completion of Clinical Technician Program or related work experience preferred.
- AHA BLS.
- Phlebotomy certificate required (CT Phlebotomy Lic.)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing clearly concisely and accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to operate common office equipment including computers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
This position is represented by SEIU - UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
