Clinical Dietitian Lead - Nutrition Services

St. John's Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Dietitian Lead to join our dynamic nutrition services team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care. This role will provide leadership and mentorship to a team of registered dietitians and dietetic technicians, ensuring the delivery of exceptional nutritional care.


Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of registered dietitians and dietetic technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures related to clinical nutrition services.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the clinical nutrition department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standards of care.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of new team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Provide direct patient care, including nutritional assessments, developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans, and monitoring patient progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning meetings.
  • Stay current with the latest evidence-based nutrition practices and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of nutrition services.

Qualifications
  • Two (2) years as a Clinical Dietitian II at Dignity Health or CSH, or four (4) years of acute hospital experience working with patients in more complex levels of care to specialized populations (e.g. pediatric, bariatric, ICU, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics.)
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). 
  • Outpatient/Wellness Center/Rehabilitation - Board Certified Specialist in sports dietetics, obesity, and weight management.
