Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EKG Technician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent patient interaction abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care..
Responsibilities
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients of all ages and varying medical conditions, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Prepare patients for EKG procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including EKG tracings and relevant patient information.
- Troubleshoot and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring its proper functioning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Assist with other clinical tasks, such as vital signs monitoring or assisting with patient transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Any other relevant responsibilities specific to the position, e.g., stress testing, Holter monitoring
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience performing or monitoring electrocardiograms under direct supervision required.
- High school graduate or equivalent is required, including a course in the physical sciences or electrocardiography.
- Certified course in electrocardiography or courses in basic arrhythmia recognition is required.
- Muse, Rumba, AS400 , Windows NT.
- AHA BLS
- Fire Safety Card required. (must obtain within 90 days of start date)
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
