The posted compensation range of $146.91 - $160.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit Health at Home is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join our leadership team. The COO will provide executive leadership, ensuring the effective operation and management of our business functions while driving operational excellence. This critical role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, guiding the design of customer-focused systems to expand our operational capacity and support the organization’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance the effectiveness of programs and services, fostering communication and cross-functional teamwork to meet strategic goals.
- Drive innovation, ensuring high performance across all business lines while maintaining alignment with our core values.
- Oversee budget management and strategically allocate resources to support the organization’s mission, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Lead the managed care contracting function and actively engage in key negotiations.
- Provide inspirational leadership, motivating teams, managing change, and fostering a collaborative, customer-centered environment.
- Set clear, measurable goals and hold staff accountable for performance and operational excellence.
- Support leadership in policy-setting and strategic planning, contributing to the organization’s overall success.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, upholding the highest level of ethical behavior, fiscal responsibility, and organizational integrity.
- Continuously assess operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in management or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of supervisory or administrative experience in the healthcare industry, with at least 10 years of experience in home care.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare operations, clinical, sales, quality, customer service, compliance, and government regulations, including Medicare.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to develop and lead teams, set objectives, and drive performance. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess trends, analyze competitive strengths, and execute strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Ethical Leadership: Strong commitment to ethical standards and the fiduciary responsibility to the community and organization.
- Results-Oriented: Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities. Demonstrated success in meeting revenue, profit, and operational goals.
