Responsibilities

The Pharmacist Intern must  be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of becoming a Pharmacist. The  Pharacist  Intern will assist the Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. The Pharmacist Intern will work under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist to perform:

- The Intern will be trained initially to be competent in all aspects of a Pharmacy Technician.

- Operational support functions such as billing/crediting controlled substance processing inventory control and training.

- Distributional support functions including electronic profiling timely and accurate labeling and preparation of products in compliance with P&P/rules/regulations and daily operation/oversight of the Automated dispensing Robot-Rx.

- When appropriately trained assume the duties of a Pharmacist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. - When appropriate additional training will be initiated for training as a Pharmacist.


Qualifications
  • Must have current California Board of Pharmacy Intern License.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of graduating as a Pharmacist or BS in Pharmacy with application submitted for CA Pharmacist license.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws regulations and standards regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services.
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patients medical management plan.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
