Overview

CHI Health Nebraska Heart delivers leading-edge services to Nebraska and northern Kansas. Our network of offices and affiliated hospital-based clinics enables patients to receive timely care close to home. In addition Nebraska Heart located in southeast Lincoln has dramatically reshaped the way in which patients receive care. Nebraska Heart continues to have the largest staff of experienced cardiology and vascular professionals in the area. Alongside the physicians is a dedicated team of advanced practice clinicians nurses technologists and staff; all committed to providing quality care and education to meet each patient’s needs during diagnosis treatment and recovery.


Responsibilities

    • Plans and prepares foods according to recipes and time schedules.
    • Works as a team member in pre-preparation, preparation, portioning, and storage of  food.  Assists on patient tray assembly line.
    • Exercises quality control, including portion sizes and temperature standards.  Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures in designated work areas.
    • Logs information on production sheets and other records required in the department.
    • Assists in food product evaluation, test trays, and environmental sanitation inspections.
    • Maintains a high standard of sanitation in area of responsibility to comply with hospital management, local and state inspectors, JCAHO and CMS.  Cleans and maintains all equipment and work areas.
    • Takes care of hospital equipment and reports any equipment that is not working properly or equipment that is not safe.


Qualifications

Required:

-Possesses good cooking skills with restaurant or institutional background.

-Demonstrates creativity, enthusiasm, and a consistent positive demeanor.

-Works well with others.

-Ability to read and write.
-Ability to calculate amounts of ingredients when adjusting recipes.

-Ability to interpret written instructions and follow through with oral instructions.

-Completes Food Services Sanitation class or inservice.

Preferred:

Previous food service and major equipment operation experience.
Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
