Responsibilities

Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the Radiologist and/or Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Manager and/or Chief Technologist, the technologist responsibly performs radiographic procedures at a technical level
requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative. Demonstrates the ability to understand the
unique infant/child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relativeto growth, assessment and development of the patients. Assumes responsibility for performance in designated areas or procedures as required.

  • This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and iscovered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Must be capable of performing all routine diagnostic procedures independently, including but not limited to: routine, fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs; limited specials such a
    Myelograms, Venograms, ERCP's.
  • Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (full accreditation means the training program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized, accrediting agency), in the pertinent modality for which the employee is being hired.

  • Successful and valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency; in the specific modality for which the employee was hired or registry eligible and valid registration/certification must be obtained within four (4) months of hire date. 

  • After one year of satisfactory performance as a validly registered/certified technologist, in the  specific modality for which the employee was hired, the employee will be re- classified to the Imaging Technologist classification.

  • Modality specific advance level registry must be obtainedwithin twelve months of hire date.  Should any of the above requirements (completion of the program or achieving registration/certification) not be obtained in the specified timeframe, a single three (3) month extension may be considered and granted at the discretion of the management. Failure to obtain/achieve valid certification will result in immediate termination from employment.

  • CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
    Must have one of the following: registry orcertification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CT NMT or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers RG ARDMS.
  • Must be available to participate in on-call rotations and arrive at the hospital with a 30-minute response time.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
