Overview

St. Luke’s Health–Brazosport Hospital is located on a beautiful 25-acre campus in Lake Jackson Texas. Offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and comprehensive treatment services our hospital is home to a 154-bed patient tower level III trauma center advanced cardiac care center and full-service multidisciplinary cancer center. Our team consists of over 100 board-certified physicians and nearly 600 highly skilled employees to meet our patients’ medical needs. Responsibilities

The Scheduler is responsible for obtaining schedule reservations from physician’s offices or patients, complete and accurate demographic and financial information for patient pre-registration and follow-up of that information. Responsible for insurance verification, both by phone and computer, determining scheduled patient’s financial responsibility, and communicating this information to the patient.


Qualifications
  • Ability to type/enter data accurately, ability to spell correct diagnosis, procedures and patient’s names required
  • Exposure to insurance companies and their benefits required
  • Must be highly motivated to improve data quality & financial position of the institution
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals
  • 1 year previous experience in healthcare setting obtaining quality patient demographic info, verifying patient insurance information, providing financial counseling, ICD9 coding experience & knowledge, patient billing & collection experience preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required
