Responsibilities

As our Biomedical Technician (BMET) at CHI Heatlh Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE, a part of the CommonSpirit Health network, you’ll support patient care by assuring important medical equipment is working properly and accurately. This role allows for health care teams to confidently leverage diagnostic equipment when needed because of the work you do through a combination of Preventative Maintenance (PM) and equipment repairs.
- Performs significant preventative maintenance/safety tests/calibration for equipment.
- Provides equipment repair throughout responsible area.
- Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
- Assists in the ordering of part and supplies necessary for servicing of equipment.
- Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.

CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268 bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska that prides itself on being an accredited Level II Trauma Center. Good Samaritan offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport, Cardiac Care, including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, and comprehensive neuro and orthopedic surgery. Good Samaritan is a Magnet® recognized hospital, has ranked among America's 250 Best Hospitals for the last 4 years in a row, and is a Nationally Certified Primary Stroke Center. As a Biomedical Technician in this facility you will be part of our Clinical Engineering team that manages nearly 7,000 assets including MRI, PET/CT, 3 Cath Labs and 2 Linear Accelerators.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical, related IT, or Mechanical Engineering or related field, equivalent military education, graduate of technical program, or equivalent training validated through training certificates, or 1 year of equivalent experience
- Valid Driver’s License
