The posted compensation range of $30.55 - $44.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Under the direction of the Laboratory Director or Laboratory Manager, this position serves as the primary responsible support individual of the Point of Care (POC) system for selected laboratories (2-3 hospitals). This support includes, but is not limited to, point of care test library maintenance, policy and procedure development, ad hoc report creation, upgrade support & planning, POC middleware database management, security, POC system training, maintenance and troubleshooting. This position will serve as a liaison between Laboratory and other hospital departments to coordinate implementation of POC changes impacting all departments, and will work collaboratively with the System Lab Service Line.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintains routine daily operation of point of care functions, including but not limited to: production and dissemination of various reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to hospital leadership; verification of report accuracy and completeness is essential. May train key operators to assist in this effort.
- Identifies and, if unable to resolve, reports & collaborates with the CSH support to resolve POC issues.
- Maintains all POC support tickets (submission, validation, notification of resolution) for the Laboratory team.
- Representative on projects impacting the POC during the design, implementation and maintenance phases
- Responsible for POC equipment and oversight of maintenance.
- Ensures POC ongoing compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for development, implementation and compliance with policy and procedures.
- Validates and maintains records of validation for all Governance ticket change requests.
- Qualify and function as the CLIA defined Technical Consultant. Trains and coordinates the activities of personnel responsible for performing POC testing including competencies; provides continuing education as needed. May train key operators that qualify as Technical Consultants, to assist in this effort.
- Maintains CLIA documentation of additional Technical Consultants outside of the Clinical Laboratory personnel.
- Ensures training documentation is completed and maintained in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provides and maintains secure user access to the POC system.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA 2 years clinical laboratory experience |
Preferred Requirements | Minimum 2 years POC Coordinator experience in an Acute Care setting |
Required Licensure and Certifications | State license requirements California: CLS:CA Nevada: CLS:NV or GS:NV North Dakota: MT-L:ND Tennessee: MT-L:TN Where state license not required: MT or CLS or MLS certification required, ASCP or equivalent (per requirement sheet) |
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training | Job duties require considerable knowledge of the principles and practices related to point of care systems in order to act as Lab POC SME (Subject Matter Expert). Experience with Google management suite of tools. Skilled multi-tasker, clear communicator, and active listener who knows the right questions to in order to understand the teams’ needs. |
