Being a senior physicist at CHI St Vincent Hot Springs, you will embark on a unique and exciting journey. You will have the opportunity to develop, supervise, and coordinate the Radiation Oncology Physics Program, a role with its own challenges and rewards.

Responsibilities
  • As a Senior Physicist, you'll play a vital role in patient care and diagnosis within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You'll be responsible for:


    Treatment Planning:

    • Supervises and assists dosimetrists in calculating treatment plans.
    • Works with radiation oncologists to develop new techniques and procedures.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Performs routine quality assurance for treatment machines.
    • Calibrates machines and conducts special physics projects.

    Radiation Safety:

    • Acts as Radiation Safety Officer for the Cancer Treatment Center.
    • Ensures compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.

    Brachytherapy:

    • Maintains records of radionuclide use
    • Assembles and prepares brachytherapy and sources.
    • Loads, threads, and returns sources.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Medical Physics

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Board eligible or certified by the ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics
  • Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of clinical experience
  • Experience with Linac-based SRS and SBRT
  • Experience with Linear Accelerators, Aria, and Eclipse
