The Hospital President, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, is responsible for implementing the strategic direction set forth by the Catholic Health Initiatives’ strategic plan. The President connects the elements of the local health care delivery system including CHI St. Vincent Hot Spring's vendors and partners to increase the effectiveness of care delivery and population health management. The President is the public face of CHI in the community embodying the mission of CHI to its constituents. The President provides leadership to the overall operational management for CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Health Initiatives and the Board of Trustees.

  • Partners, regional and national expertise and vendors
  • Clinical continuum of Care
  • Matrix Relationships with CHI St. Vincent support roles in Finance, Human Resources, Foundation, Business Development and Mission Integration
  • Reports to the Market President & CEO, CHI St. Vincent 

Responsibilities

Quality, Safety, and Patient Experience Optimization

  • Collaborate with physicians to set and achieve annual quality targets, aligning with system-wide goals and metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience, ensuring a cohesive team approach to exceptional care delivery.
  • Utilize data and rounding as quality oversight tools to guarantee top-tier patient care.
  • Engage with physicians to promote continuous quality improvement and standardization.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of CHI St. Vincent Hot Spring's performance in meeting quality and patient care standards, driving improvements with clinical and administrative teams.

Clinical Operations and Community Value Delivery

  • Serve as a key integrator, ensuring a seamless continuum of care that balances quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Focus on wellness management initiatives to reduce downstream healthcare costs.
  • Actively contribute to physician practice management and engage with physicians to enhance care coordination.

Community Leadership and Advocacy

  • Foster partnerships with government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community stakeholders to enhance local healthcare delivery.
  • Advocate for initiatives and collaborations that create business opportunities and improve value in the community.
  • Engage with community boards and employers to promote CHI’s mission and foster healthcare solutions.
  • Cultivate relationships with physician organizations to support a seamless continuum of care.

Leadership in Alignment with CHI’s Values and Mission

  • Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, aligned with CHI’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Conduct an annual review to assess how the facility is fulfilling CHI's mission and values.
  • Strengthen partnerships with community health organizations to improve overall public health.
  • Lead community and social accountability efforts, actively participating in activities that align with CHI’s philosophy and values.

Talent Management and Development

  • Attract and retain top clinical and non-clinical talent to support the long-term success of the facility.
  • Promote a positive work environment by collaborating with the executive team on competitive wages, benefits, and consistent personnel policies.
  • Foster professional development for the management team, including physician leaders.

Governance 

  • Collaborate with board members to ensure the facility’s smooth operation and evolve board structures as necessary.
  • Keep the board informed about major activities and challenges impacting the facility’s success.
  • Assist in the selection of new board members to ensure a diverse and skilled governing team.
  • Support the Board Chair in developing meeting agendas and lead meetings as needed.

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Lead the creation and implementation of an annual budget that supports strategic goals and aligns with CHI expectations.
  • Take a key role in fund-raising initiatives for the healthcare system.
  • Guide capital projects and facilities improvements to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Use data and financial insights to drive performance and operational efficiencies across the facility.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
  • Advanced degree (M.H.A., M.B.A., or M.S.) in healthcare administration, business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a healthcare facility.
  • Experience in physician practice management is an asset.
  • Relevant state licensure as required.
  • Designation as a Member or Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) preferred.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Licensure as required by state law.
  • For hospital CEOs, FACHE certification is preferred.
  • For long-term care CEOs, certification in long-term care administration is required.
