As a critical member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President of the Enterprise Consulting Group (ECG) will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and play a vital role in advancing the strategic vision of CommonSpirit Health. This influential position encompasses the comprehensive management and progressive evolution of the organization's Enterprise Process Improvement and Project Management standards, ensuring their effective implementation across all levels of the enterprise.
In alignment with ECG’s mission to optimize critical business processes and drive substantial improvements in margin, EBITDA, quality, and overall experience, the Vice President will strategically collaborate with executive leaders and key stakeholders to align business strategies across multiple divisions. This role is essential for fostering organizational momentum and sustainability, directly impacting the success of major service lines, processes, and functions throughout the system.
The Vice President will lead and provide direct oversight to a substantial team of Process Improvement and Project Management direct reports, ensuring the availability of high-caliber expertise dedicated to fostering continuous improvement at both the system and local facility levels. This team will spearhead the establishment and management of comprehensive Process Improvement and Project Management system wide portfolios, utilizing innovative, research-backed models to address the evolving needs of a complex healthcare delivery system. Please note this is a Remote role.
Responsibilities
In this capacity, the Vice President will facilitate collaboration across multiple internal resources, including but not limited to:
● VP of Administrative Services
● Operational Effectiveness
● Learning and Organizational Development
A proven leader with extensive experience in large, multi-regional healthcare systems, the Vice President will have a track record of successful turnarounds and large-scale implementations, supported by actionable project plans. This leader will be adept at guiding a diverse group of direct reports while effectively influencing senior executives across the organization. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for motivating and engaging a wide range of stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a unified standard for the consistent delivery and application of Process Improvement methodologies, integrating best practices and design theory across the enterprise.
Management and oversight of the Enterprise Project portfolio, providing guidance to senior leadership on prioritization and progress.
● Align strategically selected workgroups (5 for 25, Value Capture, OMD, Central Functions) to expedite return on investment, turnaround operational focus areas and/or implement system wide best practices.
● Support and facilitate development of short term strategy for sustainability for central function which will contribute to long term strategic goals
Develop and Chair a Process Improvement Best Practices Workgroup coordinating resources throughout the enterprise to identify, evaluate and implement best practices across the organization.
Collaborate closely with the CAO and VP of Administrative Services on the development and reporting for the Administrative Management Operating Review (MOR).
Manage ECG staff and external consulting resources to ensure comprehensive support for transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
● Master’s degree required. Focus in healthcare or business administration, organizational development or related area of study preferred.
● Five (5) years' experience in an large healthcare enterprise preferably at the corporate or system level
Required Licensure and Certifications:
● Project Management Professional (PMP Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
● ASQ Certification preferred
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:
● Proven track record of leading large-scale programs within a complex, multi-regional organization.
● Experience in managing and understanding the valuation of risk to create a value proposition for ongoing organizational stability.
● Research capabilities to remain on the cutting edge of healthcare and business operations trends, looking to non-healthcare models and non-traditional solutions as appropriate.
● Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and to those we serve in the community.
● Focus on innovation and championing new ideas.
● Ability to lead, train, develop and mentor direct reports.
● Competency in strategic planning, program management, fiscal management and political acumen.
● Ability to lead team members who do not have a direct reporting relationship to him/her.
● Comfort working with both internal and external consultants and consultant groups, with the ability to negotiate vendor contracts.
● Highly self-motivated and self-directed; ability to work independently and with a team.
● Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form with a focus on attention to detail.
