Design and present solutions and options that improve patient care, enhance patient engagement, improve operational efficiency organizational knowledge with thoughtful design. 

Responsible for identification, analysis, specification and development of detailed reports to meet the business users’ needs. Responsible for validating model system reports and identifying advanced reporting needs with report consumers. Meets with Epic application teams and customers to understand their reporting needs. May create new reports using a third-party report-writing tool to display Clarity data.


Responsibilities
  • Create reports sourcing database observations from numerous tables (including but not limited to observations on documents, flow sheets, and patient demographics or visit information). Query clinical databases using SQL query logic and map out the dependencies and connections among hundreds of source tables and views using SQL Server Management Studio. 
  • Analyze clinical & financial data contained in the database to identify data reporting issues with existing and proposed system tools. 
  • Document detailed specifications for each report including both the technical specifications and a summary of the report. 
  • Complete thorough unit testing of all reports and/or extracts prior to handoff for functional and/or integrated testing. Also facilitates functional and integrated testing as requested as well as creating and providing documentation as required to the testing and training team. 
  • Provide end user support pertaining to reporting. 
  • Create and edit Stored Procedures, Views, Functions and Queries on SQL Server to pull required data for reporting purposes using SQL Server Management Studio. 
  • Develop dynamic reports enabling the end users to define numerous parameters that allow users to filter and aggregate as required. Also create custom reports that allow end users to drill down for more detail. 
  • Configure and create packages for report distribution. 
  • Create lists, libraries, calendars, web part pages, dashboards, etc. 
  • Document and report system issues to Reporting Manager. 
  • Proactively identify and communicate barriers to completing assigned deliverables. Accountable for supporting the management of the scope, schedule, and quality of the project within their respective team/area. 
  • Analyzes workflow decisions and how they translate into report requirements. 
  • Prioritize reports based on user demand and provide status reports to project managers and/or team leads. 
  • Ensures careful analysis with the customer to define requirements to understand the data need. 
  • Quality development and testing of reports. 
  • Familiar with process improvement and project management methodologies. 
  • On-call coverage (after business hours and weekends) is sometimes required, on a rotational basis or as needed, if circumstances warrant. 
  • Some travel (both locally and overnight) may be required. 
  • Strong Customer Service Orientation and ability to follow through on issue resolution. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required: Prior experience with business intelligence tools and project/program/staff management required. Must become knowledgeable about basic application build decisions, operational workflows and reporting process in their assigned subject area. They must also build strong relationships with the report users, IT and Business Intelligence teams. Must be proficient in the use of report writing tool(s) in order to effectively facilitate design, build, validation and documentation of requested reports. Prior experience using report writing tools such as; Crystal Reports, SQL, Chronicles/Reporting Workbench and/or other SAP/Business Objects reporting tools required. General understanding of reporting and application databases preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills. Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities and adapt to change. Strong customer service skills required. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and research skills
  • Strong business or clinical acumen Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills. 
  • Able to get things done and escalate issues to the decision-makers as necessary 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities and adapt to change 
  • Strong customer service skills required 
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, ability to troubleshoot, be proactive. 
  • Demonstrates qualities of assertiveness, a high sense of urgency, initiative (selfstarter), effective communication skills including presentation skills, facilitation skills, and a positive attitude.
