The posted compensation range of $40.75 - $59.09 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. The IT Command Center and Emergency Preparedness Specialist must have a solid understanding of the Hospital Incident Command Center (HICS) and planning regarding Emergency Preparedness. This role requires the ability to Design, organize and run go-live Command Centers in support of IT go-live events including large multi-site implementations, growth initiatives and system upgrades. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the command centers, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between various stakeholders during the go-live process. In addition to Command Center activities, this position will also support system wide EHR Disaster Planning activities. EHR Disaster Planning activities are a key component of the EHR business continuity strategy to minimize the impact of planned and unplanned downtime events.
Responsibilities
Create a detailed plan to organize and manage multiple IT command centers across geographical locations. Develop a standard playbook to replicate for new go-live events occurring every six months across the enterprise.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the command center for both in person and remote locations, including scheduling, staffing, resource allocation and coordination of huddle calls.
Develop and maintain comprehensive communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed of go-live progress, potential issues, and resolution strategies. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing command center activities and outcomes.
Responds to planned and unplanned campus specific or system events affecting normal operations. Collaborates with internal and external partners on mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies based on event outcomes.
Facilitate communication between the command center, clinical teams, IT teams, operational stakeholders and end-users.
Monitor reported incidents and system performance throughout the go-live event to identify potential issues, escalating them to the appropriate team for resolution.
Ensures operational and survey readiness by supporting planning activities pertaining to the emergency preparedness portfolio.
Collaborate with project management and leadership to ensure alignment with overall project goals and objectives.
Create and execute plan for post go-live support turnover to operations and maintenance support team.
Create a detailed plan and playbook for other Command Center needs to include system upgrades and growth initiatives.
Lead EHR disaster planning activities to ensure implementation of best practice Business Continuity Access (BCA) process and workflow.
Work with application teams to ensure downtime workstations are identified and properly configured and that standardized downtime reports are created, validated and implemented in conjunction with all go-live events.
Organize and manage on-going disaster recovery drills to ensure readiness for planned or unplanned EHR downtime.
Coordinate data recovery efforts in the event of an extended EHR downtime.
Travel required to support go-live events, travel may be concentrated to the weeks before, during and after scheduled go-live events.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field; 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a healthcare IT environment, Emergency Preparedness, disaster planning or other multiple location event leadership experience required.
Experience with Emergency Operations Center and Incident Command Center models preferred.
Familiarity with healthcare terminology and processes is preferred
