Overview

CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.

The Vice President of Patient Care Services, contributes to the fulfillment of the CSH Central Region mission and vision by serving as a designated administrative leader for CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake programs and services in the community. Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and directing resources in assigned operational areas. Acts as a role model for ethical management behavior, promoting positive ethical and moral principles aligned with the Mission, Vision, Pledge, and Commitments of CommonSpirit Health.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:

    • Serve as the administrative leader for CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake.
    • Plan, organize, implement, and direct resources in assigned operational areas.
    • Model ethical management behavior and promote ethical and moral principles.
  2. Patient Care Services:

    • Maintain direct responsibility for Nursing Practice on the assigned campus.
    • Collaborate with medical staff, ancillary services, community leaders, agencies, and payors.
    • Build strong relationships with physicians and employees to improve patient experience, physician engagement, and staff engagement.
  3. Operational Responsibility:

    • Direct operational responsibility for specific departments and programs on the assigned campus.
    • Manage additional responsibilities or consultative duties as necessary to achieve campus objectives.
    • Maintain matrix management responsibility for all nursing care areas on the assigned campus, regardless of reporting structure.

Key Functions:

  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Engage with community leaders and agencies to address community health needs.
  • Work with payors to manage financial aspects of patient care services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient experience and staff engagement.
  • Oversee operational efficiency and effectiveness of assigned departments and programs.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must have Master's or Post Graduate Degree
  • Active RN license in the state of North Dakota or Compact nurse licensure 
  • 5 years proven leadership and management experience in healthcare
  • Strong ethical and moral principles consistent with CommonSpirit Health’s Mission and Vision.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with medical staff, employees, and community stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and resource management skills.
  • Commitment to improving patient experience and staff engagement.
