Responsibilities
  • Provides evaluation, engineering/design and implementation services for new products, technologies and solutions to address corporate business requirements.  Provides escalation support to Tier 1 and 2 engineers.  
  • Demonstrates creativity and takes initiative in problem solving. Resolves or facilitates resolution of complex problems for assigned programs.
  • Has a thorough and comprehensive mastery of supported platforms/products and environments.
  • Focuses the majority of time on complex engineering, architectural and implementation tasks.  
  • Project assignments are large in scope and are highly complex.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to CommonSpirit Health end users, Business Stakeholders and other members of CommonSpirit Health IT.
  • Perform daily production support activities.
  • Participate in team on-call rotations.
  • Lead projects associated with the enhancement, upgrade/patching, or implementation of new or existing technology solutions.
  • Coordinate implementation and support efforts between IT Operations and other CommonSpirit Health IT teams.
  • Provide oversight and facilitation of the CommonSpirit Health IT change management process as it applies to the IT Operations team.
  • Review, recommend and monitor the source code/versioning management function adhering to technical management guidelines.
  • Onsite position in Dallas, TX.

Qualifications
  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or equivalent experience is required. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field is required.

One or more of the following sets of qualifications:

Data Center

  • 6+ years hands on experience monitoring and operating data center power and cooling infrastructures (UPS, PDU, STS, ATS, CRAC, Generators, transformers, rectifiers, and Chillers). 
  • 4+ years’ experience building and deploying data center racks and rack enclosures. 
  • 4+ years’ experience using and deploying building management and/or monitoring systems.
  • 4+ years’ experience managing and reporting on data center systems and building capacity.
  • 4+ years’ experience planning and installing data center copper and fiber optic cabling. 
  • Ability to develop and organize written documentation and procedures is required. 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches. 
  • Demonstrates a customer service approach to service delivery and effectively communicates with our customers on requests and incidents. 
  • Strong conflict resolution skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Team players will work closely in a team environment. 
  • Experience with MS Access database preferred 
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center environment. 
  • Has an understanding of high voltage filtered systems including UPS, PDU, transformer, etc. 
  • Advanced knowledge of CRAC systems, chilled and air-cooled systems. 
  • Advanced knowledge of generators. 
  • Knowledge of local building codes, fire codes, and regulations to help ensure compliance 

TRAVEL REQUIRED

Moderate travel may be required:  0-25% during the normal course of business but may be required to travel more frequently during certain events.
