Responsibilities
The System Manager, Cash Operations- Special Projects is responsible for being deeply knowledgeable about the external bank account structure, the internal in-house banking system and the treasury workstation. This position manages the implementation of banking services projects - the opening/closing of internal and external bank accounts and related bank products and services, including fraud prevention controls, and ensures the timely processing of all payments processed by Cash Operations. Additionally, the System Manager, Cash Operations - Special Projects will work on various projects that result in further centralization, standardization, process improvements and efficiency in Cash Operations. This position interacts on a regular basis with a broad range of internal and external constituents, and must exhibit clarity, professionalism and kindness, consistent with the values of CommonSpirit Health.
This position can be located in the San Francisco Corporate or the Denver Corporate (Englewood) office. It will initially focus on legacy Dignity Health cash operations (SF) and then transition to include legacy Catholic Health Initiative (Denver) cash operations. This position is ideally a combination of remote and in-office work, but a fully remote position can be considered, with a preference in the Pacific, Mountain and Central time zones.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the Cash Operations team, which can be comprised of Director(s) , Manager(s), Senior Analyst(s) and Analyst(s), the System Manager, Cash Operations - Special Projects, will have to demonstrate the ability to manage all aspects of CommonSpirit Cash Operations, and perform the following:
Lead or actively participate in Cash Operations Special Projects, which includes:
- Mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of assets
- Strategic planning for cash operations for the next 5+ years
- Transforming processes for centralization, standardization, process improvement and efficiency
- Key discussions with internal stakeholders – legal counsel, hospital and physician revenue cycle, debt team, payment card team, regional and facility leaders, corporate accounting and finance, and IT
- Key discussions with external parties, including banks, treasury workstation vendors, and external revenue cycle partners
- Cash management changes with single EMR and ERP integration and rollout
- Cash positioning and short term investments
Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
Knowledge / Experience / Skills:
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in cash management knowledge and experience at a large multi-site organization preferred
- Experience in a health care environment preferred
- Deep knowledge of bank cash management products and services, and treasury workstation software
- Strong computer skills in PC environment including Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite, especially spreadsheets is required
- Strong written and verbal skills and proven attention to detail is critical
- Exercise sound independent judgment and critical thinking
- Demonstrate strategic vision without losing focus on details
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively from analyst to executive levels with internal and external parties
- Demonstrate confidence and composure in demanding situations
Other Qualities:
The Cash Operations Team must constantly balance multiple tasks and shifting priorities, in order to meet changing external and internal requirements. A successful System Manager, Cash Operations - Special Projects must be professional, self-motivated, require minimal supervision, have excellent customer service skills, a positive mindset, and a good sense of humor.
