Looking to launch or advance your career in a dynamic healthcare IT environment? We're seeking a highly motivated Clinical Engineering Network Technician to join our team. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and the chance to make a tangible difference in patient care.
As our Clinical Engineering Network Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of our Clinical Engineering IT environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in medical device networking, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity. This position will require more than 50% travel around the Salt Lake City area.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assisting with the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and network devices.
- Performing electrical safety testing, preventative maintenance, calibrations, and security measures for medical equipment.
- Providing technical and network support to Clinical Engineering technicians.
- Assisting with the proactive monitoring and resolution of IT issues.
- Assisting users with the installation of Clinical Engineering IT devices and software.
- Assisting with medical device patching and firmware/application updates.
- Researching and implementing approved patches and updates from medical device manufacturers.
- Maintaining a basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and contributing to protective measures.
- Maintaining detailed records of network environment, work orders, and completed tasks.
- Participating in project teams as assigned.
- Providing after-hours on-call support (as per department policy).
- Participating in hospital-sponsored education programs deemed appropriate by management.
- Assisting with the evaluation of new Clinical Engineering Information Technology.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Equivalent military education or related field, graduate of technical program; or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing technical equipment
- Basic knowledge of information networking principles and best practices.
- Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance standards
- Minimum of two to three years of related clinical engineering experience.
- CRES or CBET, A+ certifications preferred
- Reliable transportation required
- Valid Driver's License required
