As our Clinical Engineering Manager II overseeing CE operations at Mercy General Hospital, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, and Mercy Hospital of Folsom in the Greater Sacramento area, you'll play a pivotal role in leading a large, multi-site Clinical Engineering Department. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective program that exceeds expectations and drives innovation across our network through:
- Operational Leadership: Manage and optimize the performance of the Clinical Engineering Department across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, Joint Commission) and program targets.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and actively participate in capital asset planning and purchasing. Analyze contract spend, parts expenses, and outside services to maintain financial metrics that meet or exceed benchmark goals. Experience with inventories of more than 13,500 pieces of equipment with total inventory value in excess of $110,000,000 and more than $4,750,000 operating budget.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, develop, and mentor a team of technical personnel, providing clear objectives, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Experience managing a team of 11+ technicians and support staff.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical department heads and facility administrators, ensuring effective communication and responsiveness to their needs.
- Contract Optimization: Minimize full-service contracts by leveraging in-house talent regionally where financially feasible.
- Modality Management: Oversee the maintenance of high-end imaging equipment (CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy, Cath Labs), optimizing service options and contract coverage. Strong knowledge of medical equipment maintenance, repair, and safety regulations.

Located in East Sacramento, Mercy General Hospital is a 342-bed, not-for-profit private community hospital and a member of the Dignity Health network.It serves as the major cardiac surgery referral center for the Greater Sacramento Service Area Dignity Hospitals.The hospital is home to the Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute of Greater Sacramento, renowned for advanced diagnostic and treatment options, rehabilitation services, and world-class research.In 2014, the Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Center was opened, adding 71 private patient rooms, a 21-bed cardiac ambulatory procedure area, a 20-bed cardiac surgery ICU, dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, and interventional cardiac catheterization labs. Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a related field required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a CE Manager
- Must have financial management skills
- Must have working knowledge of all elements of National CE Program and/or industry standard clinical engineering management
- Valid driver’s license required
- CBET and/or CHTM preferred
