Job Summary / Purpose

The System Director, Corporate & Executive Communications a strategic communicator responsible for managing communications on behalf of the executive leadership team and Board of Directors nationally and throughout our regions and markets. This role is at the forefront of crafting and delivering critical messages for various internal and external audiences, including employees, media, stakeholders, and the public. This role also serves as the communications link between the operational teams and the rest of the organization, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring accurate and timely communication of operational strategies and achievements. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the region and associated markets to ensure consistent messaging, alignment with the company's overall business strategies and objectives, and adherence to system standards, practices, policies, and working methods. A high level of discretion, professionalism, and a strong understanding of business interpretability is required for this position.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement compelling strategic narratives that reflect the organization's vision, strategies, and objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of communication plans for announcements, presentations, speaking engagements, and other communication from the executive suite and board.
  • Prepare speeches, remarks, messages, presentations, and reports on behalf of the CEO and other executive leadership team members.
  • Collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to ensure the alignment of executive messaging with overall corporate positioning, communications, and branding priorities.
  • Support executive visibility initiatives, including media interviews, speaking engagements, and industry conferences.
  • Support leadership during crisis management situations and provide thorough communication solutions.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to effectively understand and communicate operational strategies, initiatives, successes, and challenges.
  • Coordinate with various company departments to ensure consistency in the communication of company operations, including financial communications, payor strategies, corporate strategy, and healthcare operations.
  • Oversee the creation of operations-related communications, including executive presentations, internal updates, press releases, and digital content.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in internal communication and share knowledge with the organization.
  • Implement the team structures and operational norms to support leading and collaborating with system, region, and market leadership and ensure alignment, consistency, and performance of communication efforts throughout the enterprise.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or similar relevant field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate communications or public relations, with a significant emphasis on executive communications.
  • Experience in dealing with executive and Board-level communications.
  • Proven experience leading operations or business communications across a complex distributed communications function.
  • Proven ability to transform complex operational information into digestible, strategic communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with related industries and operations-specific challenges.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful internal communication strategies.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms and tools.
